COSMOS A magical world



Dear kids

Do you know what is cosmos?

Dont give a text book answer.

Space aunty will help you answer. The cosmos refers to the universe as a whole, including all matter, energy, and space. It encompasses everything from the smallest particles to the largest structures, such as galaxies and clusters of galaxies.
The current scientific understanding of the cosmos is based on the Big Bang theory, which states that the universe began as a singularity and has been expanding ever since. This expansion is thought to be driven by a mysterious force called dark energy.

The universe is thought to be about 13.8 billion years old, and is estimated to contain at least 100 billion galaxies, each with billions of stars. The cosmos also contains vast amounts of dark matter, which cannot be directly observed but is inferred to exist based on its gravitational effects on visible matter.

The study of the cosmos is a fundamental part of astronomy and astrophysics, and continues to reveal new insights into the nature of the universe and our place within it.


So just imagine we all are in the cosmos.
Aren't we lucky to be a part of this mysterious and magical place.

So dear kids ....we are part of the complex cosmos and we live in a galaxy called Milky Way.  In our home galaxy we have our own home ......our own solar system. 

Solar system is a vast and complex system that consists of the Sun, eight planets, and various smaller celestial bodies such as moons, asteroids, and comets. It is located in the Milky Way galaxy, about 25,000 light-years from the galactic center, and has been in existence for approximately 4.6 billion years.

The Sun is the center of the solar system and accounts for about 99.86% of its total mass. It is a massive, hot ball of gas that produces energy through nuclear fusion in its core. The energy radiated by the Sun provides heat and light to the planets and other bodies in the solar system. Solar system has 8 planets. 

The eight planets in the solar system are divided into two categories: the inner planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars) and the outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune). The inner planets are small, rocky planets that are relatively close to the Sun and have relatively short orbital periods. They have few or no moons and have solid surfaces with geological features such as mountains, valleys, and craters. The outer planets are much larger than the inner planets and are composed mainly of gas and ice. They have many moons and have no solid surfaces but have deep atmospheres with a variety of storms and weather patterns.

The solar system also contains numerous smaller celestial bodies, such as asteroids, comets, and dwarf planets. Dwarf planets are small, spherical bodies that orbit the Sun but have not cleared their orbits of other debris, and include Pluto, Ceres, Haumea, Makemake, and Eris.

The solar system is also home to a number of moons, which orbit the planets and other celestial bodies. Some of the most notable moons in the solar system include Titan (Saturn's largest moon), Europa (one of Jupiter's moons, which is believed to have a subsurface ocean), and Io (one of Jupiter's moons, which is the most geologically active object in the solar system).

The solar system is constantly evolving, with planets and other bodies moving in their orbits, colliding with each other, and undergoing geological and atmospheric changes. It is also subject to various external forces, such as the gravitational pull of other celestial bodies and the effects of cosmic radiation.

In summary, the solar system is a vast and complex system that is composed of the Sun, eight planets, and numerous smaller celestial bodies. It has been in existence for billions of years and is constantly evolving, with new discoveries and scientific insights being made all the time.

Aliens are a topic of great interest and speculation. While there is currently no definitive scientific evidence of extraterrestrial life, ...
